I coach a lot of entrepreneurs, both new, and well established in their respective fields. I see a lot of differences in the way they become overwhelmed and overworked when running an online business. The good news is, it is possible to overcome overwhelm and overwork. I want to address this issue because I know there are a lot of you at home struggling with the same problem.
In 2003 there was a massive forest fire that burnt down a large portion of the mountainside behind my house. The fire was thought to have been caused by a lightning strike, although no one actually knows for sure. It was a huge fire that caused widespread devastation to nearly 1000 acres in the first 24 hours alone. What happened next, was the kind of thing that you normally see when something like this happens, people panic, homes are evacuated, and everyone waits in despairing hope of news- hoping that their livelihoods have been spared.
When you get into times of trouble and frustration where you feel like everything is falling apart and being destroyed- I want you to remember the process of rebirth and re-creation. I want you to understand that no matter how much is destroyed in the process, that there is always a process of re-creation.
You may ask yourself, does re-creation just happen? Or do I have to do something to get it started? Re-creation and rebirth do need a little bit of a nudge to get started. The first thing you absolutely must do, is take full responsibility for whatever situation you find yourself in- no matter the circumstance. If a project you were doing for your online business did not meet your expectations- take responsibility for the outcome. I want to stress that you must take do this in order to move forward. Taking responsibility gives you the power to release all the negative feelings that you are holding. It is an essential and crucial step towards moving in the direction of re-creation.
If you find yourself in a situation where what you have worked hard for has been destroyed, I want you to get excited at what lies ahead for you. I want you to tell yourself that only great things lay ahead of you. It is when we experience states of confusion, overwhelm, frustration, despair, or agony that new life comes- and new opportunities with it.
I speak from experience. This has happened to in my life, and in a lot of other people’s lives I have seen as well. Accept the challenges, roll with it, and be excited for rebirth!
There are a lot of books out there on Time Management, I’ve even read some of them. A lot of people struggle with managing their time, especially when it comes to running an online business. A lot of you out there have questions on how you can manage your time to get more things done. One thing I’ve learned through the years is that the secret is in managing your energy, not your time.
Think about it, you can’t really “manage” time. Time doesn’t change, and the clock ticks away at the same rate everyday no matter how you manage it. It may feel faster or slower, depending on what you are doing, but the clock ticks at the same pace.
The average entrepreneur faces many challenges when building or growing a business. In order to be successful, you need to learn to master the rhythms of online business growth.
The early stages of starting a business can be very exiting. It can bring moments of inspiration, motivation, and frustration- and not necessarily in that order. When you have a good idea, and want to build a business around it, you go through the motions- you put a business plan together, you initiate that plan, and from there the momentum keeps you going.
I’m going to talk about how to completely eliminate competition in your online business.
If you have built, or are thinking about building an online business, then you’ve probably looked into who your competition is going to be. You may have studied what they do, how they do it, and strategized a plan of your own. This is whats called competitive analysis. Competitive analysis is done when you go out and research your competition, by seeing what they have to offer- and trying to find the gaps in that marketplace.
In this video I’m going to walk you through the process of adding annotations to YouTube videos. This is a really important step that you should be doing to each YouTube video you post.
